Doi bibani grasi de februarie

Doua albume de jazz ce au apărut in februarie si pe care le recomand cu grija.

De ce bibani? Pentru ca sunt foarte buni dar au și multe oase. Si s-ar putea sa te îneci cu ei.

Primul biban, Led Bib – Bring Your Own a fost lansat pe 7 februarie si este al cincilea album al trupei. Led Bib sunt din Londra si canta “modern jazz”. Trupa a fost formata de Mark Holub, liderul si toba trupei, in 2003, pe cand acesta studia la universitate.

Ca si highlight pentru Led Bib, se poate mentiona o nominalizare la premiile Mercury in 2009 pentru albumul “Sensible Shoes”.

“Bring Your Own”, noul album, este un amestec de jazz si rock si este foarte energic. Pe acest album nu se poate dormi si nici visa. Led Bib au meritul ca nu-ti lasa mai mult de doua optiuni. Ori esti “into it”, ori opresti muzica.

Al doilea biban este cel mai nou album (live) al cvartetului new-yorkez “Mostly Other People Do the Killing“. Da, e ok daca ii citesti numele inca o data. Ca si trupa de mai sus, MOPDtK s-a format in 2003, in jurul unui lider, Moppa Elliott (double bass), in anii universitatii/conservatorului. MOPDtK au lansat pana in prezent cinci albume (incluzandu-l pe cel in discutie) si au fost votati in 2009 castigatori ai “57th Annual Downbeat Critics’ Poll” in categoria Rising Star Ensemble.

Cel mai nou album a fost lansat pe 20 februarie, se numeste “The Coimbra Concert”, e imens si este free-as-fuck!

“.. The four members, Peter Evans, Jon Irabagon, Moppa Elliott, and Kevin Shea, have developed a style of performance in which each member is free to steer the group in any way they choose. The other members may or may not follow suit, creating a type of group interplay that often pits the individuals against each other. Within any given performance, an individual may try to cue a new composition, a return to the original melody, or other structural device, only to be vetoed, creating music that often features multiple chains of association simultaneously.
